Tania Olevska: discovering new wine destinations

Tania Olevska is an owner of the Friends Wine Travel project, the only specialized wine travel agency in Ukraine, and a tour leader. She has always been passionate about travelling with great company and good wines – what turned out to be her work! She developed 6 guided tours to different regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Odessa and the Mykolaiv region, the Kherson region, the Transcarpathia region, the Khmelnytsky region. The quality Ms. Olevska appreciates is to always stay  open to and curious about new wine destinations. 

This year, Friends Wine Travel discovered Georgia, Sicily and Crete Island as new wine destinations. In 2022, the plan is to visit Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia. In the summer, the agency brings its customers to the sea or to the river, in the spring and fall they have trips to the amazing mountains. Also, wine festivals all over Ukraine and abroad cannot be missed. 

As Tania says: “Being a tour leader and a guide means to be always engaged with all the processes: logistics, accommodation, wine and gastronomic locations, breathtaking views, historical and cultural background of the terrain.” The collaboration with local partners is inspiring as there is always a room to learn new things. Friends Wine Travel collaborates with wineries that are hospitable and have tasty wines.

For the last 2 years, Tania and her agency contributed to the Ukrainian market of travel by visiting 30+ local wineries, organizing tours, including wine tasting, local food tasting, wine and food pairing, sightseeing, culture and history of the region.
