Per Karlsson: the founder of the blogging movement in wine tourism

Per Karlsson is one of the most experienced authors in the wine world and, in fact, the founder of the blogging movement in wine tourism. He is an author of many articles, including some for Drinks+. Besides, his travel company BKWine is a constant contributor to the wine tourism development. He supported the WTA by participating as a judge of the awards.

Per Karlsson runs BKWine together with his wife Britt Karlsson. Back in 1996, they launched Sweden’s first wine website, and since then, they have been active as wine journalists. They wrote a dozen of books about wine that have been well received both in Sweden and abroad. Unfortunately, only one of these books is available in English: Biodynamic, Organic and Natural Winemaking; Sustainable Viticulture and Viniculture.

Another vector of their activities is wine travelling. Per Karlsson has a travel company called BKWine. It is one of the largest wine tour operators in the world. BKWine runs wine tours almost all over the world. In addition, it advises on wine travelling and wine tourism, as well as wine in general.

Per is also a professional photographer, specialising in wine and travel photography. Since a few years back, he has also branched out into video production on the same subject. He has contributed all images, and some text, to BKWine’s wine books.
