CSR news: La Cité du Vin’s input in the sustainable future

France

Philippe Massol, the General Director of the unique and pioneering project, La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, has kindly agreed to join the Jury of Wine Travel Awards 2022-2023, and it’s a great honor for us to collaborate with Mr Massol and his project.

In September 2022, La Cité du Vin was granted an important “Sustainable Entertainment: responsible emotion” label, which is, truly, a CSR benchmark for many international entertainment and travel professionals.

This label aims to encourage leisure and cultural sites to engage in a sustainable development approach and continuous improvement in terms of corporate social responsibility, in order to meet the major environmental and social challenges of nowadays. The main indicators considered are  accessibility, respectful purchasing policy, integration of a CSR policy, waste management plan ( minimization of packaging, reuse, sorting and recovery of waste), optimization of energy resources and visitor satisfaction. For La Cité du Vin, this label is, for sure, the result of teamwork, due to a policy of raising awareness and training of its employees.

This award confirms the Cité du Vin’s commitment to the sustainable future of winemaking and tourism in Europe and all over the world. The “Sustainable Entertainment: responsible emotion” label aims to raise awareness of environmental and social issues in the leisure and culture sector, and to initiate a movement of entertainment professionals to respond to these issues. We sincerely congratulate Mr Massol and his team with this award! Glad to build a sustainable future together!
