Corton-Charlemagne 2024 by Maison Albert Bichot – the World’s Best White Wine 2026
Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2024 – Vignoble du Pavillon by Maison Albert Bichot has received the highest distinction at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) in the white wine category – Champion White 2026, making it the world’s best white wine of 2026.
The award was announced during the annual International Wine Challenge ceremony in London. At IWC 2026, the wine scored 97 points, received a Gold medal and won four competition trophies: the Corton-Charlemagne Trophy, White Burgundy Trophy, French White Trophy and International Chardonnay Trophy.
Accepting the award in London, Albéric Bichot shared the recognition with everyone who works every day to create Maison Albert Bichot wines: “We are very happy and extremely proud to have received the Champion White 2026 trophy. This distinction, like all the awards we have received this year, is recognition of the daily work and efforts of our teams in the vineyards and wineries.”
It is particularly meaningful that this year the Drinks+ & Wine Travel Awards team visited the Maison Albert Bichot estates during a wine trip to Burgundy together with Ukrainian winemakers, restaurateurs, journalists and wine enthusiasts. We saw these vineyards first-hand and learned about the House’s work, and today we are especially pleased to celebrate its new international recognition.
