SE QWC “Milestii Mici”: the largest wine cellar in Europe
SE QWC “Milestii Mici” was founded in 1969 and it specializes in making collection wines, high quality wines, table wines and sparkling wines. The State Enterprise Quality Wines Industrial Complex “Milestii Mici” is situated near the Milestii Mici village, a half-hour ride from Chisinau. The climate of the zone is moderately continental. Winters are short and soft, summers – warm and long. The Isnovet River washes the hills and the slopes of Milestii Mici village. The warm days and the sufficient humidity are the positive factors that facilitate the cultivation of the European types of grapes and the outstanding ripening of grapes.
The old people say that the better the wine is, the better the opinion about the householder who prepared it is. The Small Milestii name is a symbol of respect for national traditions, historical roots, symbol classification undertaking socio-cultural and historical context of the country.
The State Enterprise Quality Wines Industrial Complex “Milestii Mici” is harmoniously connected with three fundamental components: outstanding winemaking materials for the production of high-quality wines, excellent oak barrels for their endurance and ideal conditions for giving the wines noble and precious qualities. Today the “underground kingdom” evokes the same emotions as formerly. The lucky people who have reached this place have the possibility to travel on the shady boulevards and streets with long rows of barrels full of wine. They may visit the Golden Collection discovering the beauty of snow-covered baths where the precious bottles are laid carefully. The “Golden Collection” Milestii Mici is the pride not only of our enterprise, but also the pride of the whole country, of the whole Europe. In August 2005, it was registered in the Guiness Records for being the biggest Wine Collection in the world. It contains over two million bottles of wine highly appreciated by the winemakers from all over the world. The wines stored here are made from crops of various years, beginning with 1969: “Pinot”, “Traminer”, “Muscat”, “Riesling”, “Feteasca”, “Dnestrovscoie”, “Milestscoie”, “Codru”, “Negru de Purcari”, “Trandafirul Moldovei”, “Auriu”, “Cahor-Ciumai”, and others. You can feel the sunshine and the power of the earth in every drop of it.
