California By The Glass Launches Across Europe This June
Throughout June 2026, restaurants across Europe are taking part in the California By The Glass campaign – a month-long initiative dedicated to showcasing the diversity of Californian wines in a by-the-glass format.
The project is organised by California Wines, the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 public vote winner in the Region of the Year category, in partnership with Star Wine List. More than 50 restaurants across 13 European countries are joining the campaign, offering guests curated selections of wines from California available by the glass throughout the month.
Participating venues span Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine. Each California By The Glass list features at least four wines, representing a minimum of two different Californian wineries. The selections are clearly marked with the California Wines logo and integrated either as a dedicated section or insert within the main wine list, making them easy to identify for guests. Across Europe, California Stars restaurants – known for their strong Californian wine selections – are at the heart of the initiative. The campaign highlights a wide range of venues, from fine dining restaurants to wine bars and contemporary bistros, all united by a shared focus on Californian wine culture.
All participating restaurants have been approved by California Wines following an open application process, reflecting strong interest and growing engagement from the European on-trade.
“The California Wines By The Glass campaign demonstrates the growing enthusiasm for Californian wines within the European on-trade,” says Marco Tiggelman, Director of Trade Programs for Continental Europe and Africa. “We were impressed by the quality and diversity of the applications, and are excited to see more than 50 restaurants across Europe offering guests more opportunities to discover California wines by the glass.”
California By The Glass is part of the broader California Stars program, which brings together European restaurants with notable Californian wine selections and aims to further promote California wine culture among both professionals and wine enthusiasts.
