The Wine Travel Awards presents LUXURY SICILIAN COOKING VACATION of October

The Wine Travel Awards team presents our new nominee – Villa Cammaratini (SICILIAN GOURMET & EXPERIENCES) and invites wine enthusiasts and culinary travel lovers to an incredible vacation in Sicily.

Our group (up to 12 people) will live in the incredible historical atmosphere of a Sicilian villa, take a master class course from a professional chef on cooking Sicilian specialties, visit the famous wine islands, the city of Modica – baroque architecture and a hundred churches and real Aztec chocolate. We are gathering like-minded people for a wonderful vacation in the first days of October – this is a fabulous enogastronomic adventure with a taste of Sicily!

Villa Cammaratini

Villa Cammaratini, immersed in the heart of the Modican countryside, is surrounded by century-old olive and carob trees, arranged like a mosaic among traditional stone walls. The historic estate carries memories of the legendary “Don Saro Aprile”, a healer whose reputation once attracted people from across Sicily seeking remedies, prayers and secret formulas.

Villa Cammaratini is an expression of relaxation, luxury, and a true immersion in the colors and scents of the Sicilian countryside. Mornings greet guests with the gentle rustle of olive leaves and evenings fall softly over the peaceful landscape, offering a sense of timeless serenity.

The villa accommodates 12 guests in six elegant double rooms with private bathrooms and air conditioning, and one single room. A large kitchen serves as the heart of the house, where cooking lessons bring Sicilian traditions to life.

The owner, Mr. Antonio Di Rosa, thanks to his experience in the tourist transport sector and driven by the desire to bring new impulses to the tourism-wellness sector, has created a focused cooking vacation project named Sicilian Gourmet & Experiences.

The project is aimed at couples or single travelers passionate about cooking who want to discover Sicilian culinary art not only as spectators but also as interpreters. It combines the food and wine identity of the region with relaxation in a carefully renovated farmhouse. The program is designed for a maximum of 6 couples and lasts 7 nights, including 4–5 cooking lessons and excursions on alternate days.

Sicilian Gourmet & Experiences provides in-depth, hands-on knowledge of the Sicilian territory through experiential paths: contact with peasant culture, vineyards, cellars, Modica pastry and cheese traditions. A full-time chef guides guests through the process, demonstrating traditional recipes from simple to more elaborate dishes, encouraging involvement and appreciation of high-quality local ingredients.

The three main excursions include:

A company visit to Thalass and to the oldest pastry and chocolate shop Bonajuto, followed by lunch on the farm with a ricotta and cheese production viewing.

A visit and dinner at the winery Cantina Rio Favara.

A guided visit to Syracuse, specifically Ortigia, with lunch in one of the best restaurants in Portopalo offering fresh daily fish, followed by an afternoon visit to Marzamemi.

The program uses two Mercedes 9-seater buses with drivers, and the holiday package includes transfers to and from Catania Airport.

The retreat may also include one or two surprise experiences.

And, of course, getting to know the culinary traditions of Sicily will be accompanied by getting to know the legends of winemaking. Join us!

  • The cost of the tour is: 2,700 euros – 2,900 euros, depending on the chosen apartment for accommodation.
