Momik WineCube: the authentic taste of Armenia for guests from all over the world

Armenia

Momik Wines, the Wine Travel Awards 2021-2022 voting winner in the Authentic Location category, is one of the most unique wine spots in Armenia. Family owned and operated since 2018, Momik Wines offer an immersive and genuine Armenian wine experience. In their WineCube, a beautiful tasting room located beneath the mountains that surround the village of Areni, Nver and Narine Ghazaryan, the owners, offer their lovely wines paired with the authentic Armenian food. One can also learn the ancient craft of khachkar (cross-stone) making here.

The village of Areni located in Vayots Dzor province is a signature place for Armenian winemaking. Throughout the year, local grape growers sell their homemade wines on the side of the main highway that winds alongside the Arpa River. Momik Wines are located just one kilometer off the main road. The winemaking family are welcoming international guests for tastings of Momik Wines. Mr Scott Eddy, a famous TV host, digital creator, a “globetrotter” and a travel blogger, as well as a passionate wine lover, has become one of those guests just recently.

“We spent the evening at Momik Wines, not only are the wines spectacular, but the family that owns it is wonderful,” — wrote Mr Scott Eddy in his review on Facebook, sharing amazing photos and a beautiful and romantic video of the vineyards in the valley of Areni village. This place is breathtaking — we do agree with Mr Scort Eddy!
