The innovative Bordeaux Wine Museum has become a sponsor and partner of the WTA, and Philippe Massol, CEO of La Cité du Vin, is one of the awards’ judges. Located in Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne, La Cité du Vin is a new generation wine museum and a mecca for wine tourists.

Cité du Vin covers an area of over 13,350 m², and a decanter-like building reaches a height of 55 m. In fact, Cité du Vin is an international showcase of the world’s vineyards: 20 thematic spaces that promote wine culture in an exciting environment. The expositions are dedicated to the history of viticulture and winemaking of five continents. For their realism and enhancement of expression, the most up-to-date technical means were used: diffusers with aromas, music, holograms, and 3D images.

And the final stage, you will be taken to Belvedere for wine tasting from all over the world. During a long preparatory period, the most respected oenologists of France made a careful selection of wines: these are 14 thousand samples worthy of being presented in this exposition. The opening of the new Museum La Cité du Vin took place in June 2016. Since its opening, the Wine Museum is visited annually by over 400 thousand people.
