A New Season at the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne and the Global Wine Events of 2026

Spring in Bourgogne is always more than a change of season. It is the moment when the vineyards awaken, wine routes come alive, and the region’s cultural heritage reveals itself anew – through events, experiences, and encounters. It is in this vibrant atmosphere that the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne opens its new visitor season, reaffirming its role as a unique cultural hub dedicated to the wine heritage of Bourgogne. And this year promises to be particularly dynamic, with one of its highlights being the inaugural Global Wine Tourism Day 2026.
Beginning 4 April 2026, the new season officially launches across all three Cité locations. After a winter pause, the cultural programme at the Cité in Beaune resumes, while the centres in Chablis and Mâcon reopen their doors. From Tuesday to Sunday, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Bourgogne wines through interactive exhibitions, tastings, and educational experiences.
Between 4 and 19 April, all three sites will host an interactive Easter-themed treasure hunt, “In Search of Easter Eggs” – a light-hearted and engaging way for families to explore the world of wine together.

In Beaune, special family workshops will also take place, inviting children and parents to create magnets, birdhouses, and themed souvenirs that blend creativity with wine culture.
Spring and Summer: A Deeper Dive into Bourgogne’s Wine Identity
The warm season at the Cité brings a rich programme designed to deepen visitors’ connection with the region’s winemaking traditions:
- professional tasting courses and masterclasses
- gastronomic events in Chablis, including seasonal brunches
- themed dinners featuring cuisines from around the world
From 25 April to 28 June, Beaune will host an exhibition by artist SBBoursot, dedicated to the life of the vine and the craft of winemaking. Created directly within wine estates, her works capture the rhythm of vineyard life — from winter pruning to harvest – conveying the atmosphere of daily labour among the vines.
A New Experience in Beaune: The Opening of the Cité’s Rooftop Terrace
Another welcome development for wine lovers: the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Beaune has opened the rooftop terrace of its wine bar and restaurant, located on the 4th floor of its striking architectural structure. This new open-air space invites guests to enjoy wine, cuisine, and panoramic views over the surrounding vineyards.
Visitors are encouraged to rise above the everyday and savour a moment of calm in a bright, open setting overlooking the winegrowing slopes. Throughout the day, the terrace offers the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or a relaxed meal in an atmosphere of conviviality and ease.
This terrace becomes a new way to experience the spirit of Bourgogne – and it is here, in the heart of the region’s vineyards, that the very first Global Wine Tourism Day will take place, bringing together more than 150 wine tourism professionals from around the world.
Global Wine Tourism Day 2026: A New International Platform
Initiated by Wine Travel Awards in partnership with the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne and supported by the Bourgogne Wine Board, this landmark event will serve as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and forward looking strategies.
The programme will include:
- conferences on the role of wine heritage in the modern world
- thematic workshops and masterclasses
- Wines of the World tastings featuring producers from multiple countries
- professional discussions, including a dedicated Women in Wine session
The celebration will culminate in the Wine Travel Awards 2026 Ceremony and a gala dinner held on the newly opened terrace, with sweeping views of the Bourgogne vineyards.

A Global Cultural Centre for Wine, Tourism, and Heritage
In 2026, the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne reaffirms its status not only as a cultural institution, but as a global platform for conversations about wine, tourism, and culture.
It is a place where visitors can:
- explore the depth of terroir
- experience the true taste of Bourgogne
- become part of the international wine community
This spring and summer, Bourgogne invites travellers not simply to visit its vineyards, but to immerse themselves fully in their atmosphere and culture. And a reminder for professionals: tickets for Global Wine Tourism Day are limited, and registration is already open on the official website of the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne.
