Wines of Armenia: mobile application, targeted at the incoming tourists and local consumers of the country

Wines of Armenia is the trilingual mobile application, targeted at the incoming tourists and local consumers for receiving up-to-date news in the wine sector, on upcoming events, providing booking possibilities at the wineries and gastroyards, as well as general wine education. This app aims to promote Armenia as a destination for wine tourism and works on ios and android operating systems.

The mobile app includes sections of wineries, gastroyards, wine news and events, as well as provides opportunities to book visits to the wine producers. The booking can be implemented by choosing date/time and number of guests intending to visit the venue. The request is reviewed by the wine producer and, if confirmed, the guests get approval within the application.

Also, to enhance the wine consumption internally and educate the consumers about the culture of wine, the application introduces a section of food and wine pairing, wherein more than 240 meals (that can be found in the country) are paired with the Wines of Armenia. For that purpose menus of the most popular restaurants were analysed and the meals selected along with types of wines with sorts of grapes selected. The pairing exercise was conducted with professional food & beverage specialists and sommeliers, wherein the laters evaluated each meal and recommended up to 5 Wines of Armenia. The food and wine pairing results (total 48.000 inputs) were analysed and matchings provided to the app developer in order to have the meals with the most frequently paired wines recommended within the mobile app.

The wineries and gastroyards can be filtered by the regions of Armenia, wherein three-level in depth information is provided with visuals. The Armenian wines can be filtered by grape sorts, price, popularity, etc. The notifications are divided into events and news, and those can be turned on/off to provide a better experience to the users. Also a highly demanded option of dark mode is provided to the users with possibility of synchronizing with the gadgets‘ settings.

The branding elements of Wines of Armenia umbrella brand are used in the app, such as the logo, name and the fonts to ensure consumers identify and smoothly move across the online and offline marketing channels.
