Torelli Vini Launches Italy’s First Organic Vinegar Made from Moscato d’Asti
The pioneering winery Torelli Vini, based in Bubbio in the Langa Astigiana area of Piedmont, has taken another bold step in sustainable winemaking by introducing Italy’s first certified organic vinegar made from Moscato d’Asti DOCG wine, reports Saporidelpiemonte.net (November 2025).
This innovative release reflects the estate’s long-standing dedication to organic production. As early as 1992, Torelli Vini became the first Italian winery to receive organic certification for its Moscato d’Asti vineyards – a milestone that cemented its role as a leader in environmentally responsible viticulture.
“We’ve managed to create a product that preserves the authenticity and natural spirit of our wines. We already have a large order coming from Switzerland,” said Gianfranco Torelli, owner and winemaker at Torelli Vini.
The new vinegar line extends beyond Moscato d’Asti to include two red variants – one made from Barbera d’Asti and Dolcetto d’Asti, and another from Barolo. By transforming part of its harvest into premium organic vinegars, the winery is broadening its portfolio while offering a sustainable alternative that supports local producers and reduces waste.
The debut of these vinegars comes at a time when global consumers are increasingly drawn to natural, sustainable, and high-quality artisanal products. With its first international order already confirmed in Switzerland, Torelli Vini once again demonstrates how innovation and respect for tradition can go hand in hand in modern Italian winemaking.
