Moldova’s National Wine Day 2024: A Grand Celebration with Award-Winning Appeal
On October 5-6, 2024, Moldova will once again come alive with the excitement of National Wine Day, a beloved autumn tradition. This year, the event promises even more flair as it celebrates its recent accolade – the Wine Travel Awards 2023-2024 for Enogastronomic Event in the “Magnet of the Region” category. Announced by the Moldovan Embassy in the UK on May 21, this award highlights the international appeal and growing recognition of Moldova’s exceptional wines and winemaking culture.
Taking place in Chisinau’s main square, National Wine Day will bring together over 100 Moldovan producers, offering tastings that range from fresh, youthful wines to rare, limited-edition releases. In addition to wine, the festival will showcase Moldova’s rich culinary heritage with mamaliga, sarmale, and other traditional dishes, all perfectly paired with local vintages. Expect live music, vibrant folk dances, and expert-led masterclasses that immerse guests in the history and craftsmanship behind Moldovan wines.
New this year, visitors will have a chance to participate in vineyard tours, showcasing the best of the Codru, Ștefan Vodă, and Valul lui Traian wine regions. Eco-friendly relaxation zones and hands-on workshops in traditional crafts like pottery and embroidery will further enrich the cultural experience.
With Moldova’s winemaking scene gaining well-deserved international recognition, 2024’s National Wine Day offers the perfect opportunity to discover the authentic flavors and welcoming spirit of this dynamic wine-producing nation. Don’t miss the biggest wine festival in Eastern Europe!
