Nelion Winery Announces Full Transition to Organic Viticulture

Cyprus

In 2025, the Cypriot winery Nelion Winery officially announced that all of its vineyards have transitioned to fully organic viticulture. The news was shared via Evoinos Cyprus Wine, a platform promoting small-scale Cypriot wine producers.

Nelion Winery is a nominee in the “Visiting Card of the Country/Must Visit” category of the Wine Travel Awards.

This organic shift will shape Nelion’s future vintages and is already influencing winemaking processes. The goal is to preserve the unique character of the local terroir and highlight the natural expression of grape varieties – especially their flagship white wine, Xynisteri.

As part of this strategic development, Nelion has joined the Cyprus Ambassador Wine program, which supports and promotes Cypriot winemakers on the international stage. Nelion wines are expected to be presented at future wine trade fairs under this initiative.

Despite limited updates on official channels in recent years, Nelion Winery continues to operate as a small but focused family-run estate, dedicated to authenticity, sustainable practices, and the island’s winemaking heritage.
