Kjell-Gabriel Hendrichs Wine Expert in Education and Tourism
Norwegian wine expert Kjell-Gabriel Hendrichs, widely known as “The Norwegian Wine Guy,” is one of Norway’s most active wine communicators and educators. He is a winner of the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 in the Top Guide category, recognized for his outstanding contribution to wine tourism and wine travel experiences.
Kjell-Gabriel Hendrichs is the creator of the popular wine podcast “Kjells Vinkjeller,” produced in cooperation with Nettavisen, where he discusses wines, grape varieties, wine history, and the cultural stories behind different regions and styles. With more than 670 episodes released since 2017, the podcast combines wine recommendations with historical insights, winery visits, and conversations inspired by wine travel and local traditions. It is released twice a week and is available on major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Beyond podcasting, Hendrichs runs one of Norway’s largest wine communities on Facebook, “Vin,” which welcomes both beginners and experienced wine enthusiasts and aims to make wine knowledge accessible to a wider audience.
He is also active internationally under the name “The Norwegian Wine Guy,” producing content on YouTube focused on grape varieties, wine regions, and encounters with wine producers around the world. He regularly hosts interactive online tastings, where viewers can taste wines alongside him and participate in live discussions. One of his recent sessions featured a comparative tasting of Faustino wines from different vintages, combining wine analysis, producer history, and audience engagement. On social media, he further connects with audiences through Instagram and Snapchat under his Kjells Vinkjeller brand.
In addition to his media work, Hendrichs is actively involved in wine education and tasting events, offering curated courses and private masterclasses for companies, restaurants, and private groups. His tastings often combine wine, storytelling, and historical context, reflecting his background as a historian.
He also co-organizes wine travel experiences in Italy and other European regions, combining vineyard visits with cultural and historical exploration, often in collaboration with FAB Adventures.
