Dos Búhos Named One of the Best Wineries in Mexico by Wine Terroir
Dos Búhos, a winery located in the heart of Guanajuato, has been recognized by Wine Terroir as one of the best wineries in Mexico. The publication highlighted the quality of Dos Búhos wines, its commitment to organic practices, and its low-intervention winemaking philosophy.
Wine Terroir noted the winery’s use of wild fermentation, native yeasts, grapes exclusively from estate vineyards, and its contribution to the development of natural and artisanal wine culture in Latin America. Dos Búhos, WTA nominee in The Visiting Card of the Country/Must Visit, is also known for its production of orange wines, pet-nat, and amphora-aged varieties.
Alongside this recognition, Dos Búhos remains active in the local cultural scene. Recently, it celebrated the 2025 harvest together with Viñedo Toyan, strengthening ties with local producers and highlighting the role of wine in the regional economy.
The winery also hosts themed events and cultural programs. One of the recent highlights was the Bel Canto cabaret evening, which combined fine dining with live musical performances.
Dos Búhos continues to promote Mexican wine internationally, taking part in major wine competitions such as the Decanter World Wine Awards, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Concours Mexico Selection, and the International Wine & Spirit Competition. At the 2024 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the Dos Búhos Grenache Gran Reserva 2019 received a Grand Gold Medal.
Visitors from abroad particularly note the pet-nats, orange wines, the setting, and the overall experience at the winery.
