Chan Jun Park Appointed Ambassador for Beira Interior Wines
South Korean wine expert Chan Jun Park has been officially appointed Ambassador for Beira Interior Wines during a wine festival held in Guarda, in Portugal’s Beira Interior region. Announcing the appointment on his official Facebook page, Park described the role as “both a great privilege and a meaningful responsibility” and pledged to introduce the region’s wines to Korea and across Asia.

A respected educator, wine journalist and international wine judge, Chan Jun Park has become a familiar name within the Wine Travel Awards community. After winning the Wine & Food Influencer – Expert Opinion category in Wine Travel Awards 2024–2025, he returned as a 2025–2026 nominee, where he was honoured with the prestigious Judges’ Choice Award in the same category by renowned wine expert Robert Joseph. Earlier this year, Park also founded the Asia Wine Alliance, a new initiative designed to strengthen cooperation between leading wine professionals across Asia and international wine producers, further expanding his mission of connecting European wine regions with Asian markets.

Chan Jun Park currently serves as Asia Director of the Asia Wine Trophy, Director of the International Wine Conference, Director of the Institute for Wines from Eastern Europe, and Vice President of the Korea International Sommelier Association. Through these roles, he has become one of the leading figures connecting European wine regions with Asian consumers and wine professionals.
His appointment as Ambassador for Beira Interior Wines reflects this long-standing commitment. In recent years, Park has actively promoted the wines of Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Georgia and other emerging European wine regions through educational programmes, masterclasses, judging panels and professional events throughout Asia.
The new role is expected to further enhance the international visibility of Beira Interior, one of Portugal’s historic wine regions, while reinforcing cultural and professional ties between European producers and the Asian wine community.
