Allison Levine continues to introduce rare grape varieties to the world
American wine journalist and founder of the project Please The Palate, Allison Levine continues to actively promote rare and little-known grape varieties, remaining one of the most prominent figures in independent U.S. wine media.
Allison Levine became a nominee and winner of the Wine Travel Awards in the Wine&Food Influencer/Expert Opinion category, receiving the special Judges’ Choice award. Levine’s main project remains The Festival of Undiscovered Grapes, dedicated to “forgotten” and lesser-known grape varieties of California. The festival has also received recognition at the Wine Travel Awards, becoming a nominee and Voting Winner in the Enogastronomic Events / Event of the Year category.
Following the successful 2025 and 2026 editions, The Festival of Undiscovered Grapes continues to expand and has already announced its 2027 events. The main festival will take place on April 3, 2027, in Los Angeles, with additional events also scheduled in San Jose. The program will include tastings of wines made from rare and little-known grape varieties, meetings with producers, gastronomic pairings, and presentations of minimal-intervention wines. The organizers promise to bring together projects that reveal new dimensions of contemporary winemaking and introduce guests to unusual styles and indigenous varieties. Tickets are traditionally expected to go on sale toward the end of the year, while details on venues, participants, and the program will be published on the festival’s official resources and Instagram account.
Through her media project Please The Palate, Allison Levine publishes wine reviews, interviews with winemakers, and features on small family wineries in California specializing in unconventional grape varieties. In the industry, Levine is known not only as a journalist and blogger but also as an organizer of professional tastings and international wine events.
