A quality product preserving unique wine varieties

Winery Khareba is a company oriented on creating high quality product preserving unique wine varieties and traditional methods of winemaking culture. In different regions of viticulture-winemaking the company owns over 1500 hectares of vineyard Vineyard area where Georgian and European grape varieties are cultivated. The collection vineyard is especially noteworthy among them, which unites more than 300 endemic Georgian vine varieties. 75% of vineyards of Khareba Winery are located in Eastern Georgia, in particular – Kakheti region, while the remaining 25% are cultivated in Western Georgia – Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Samegrelo. Winery Khareba promotes the cultivation and development of such rare Georgian varieties in western Georgia as Krakhuna, Tsolikouri, Tsitska, Aladasturi and Otskhanuri Sapere. It should be noted that European vine varieties are also cultivated in Imereti: Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Aligote, Muscat, Cabernet, Sauvignon and Merlot.

The gold of Georgian land – gold at wine competitions

Nowadays, the company wine varieties cover up to 10 premium wines, 7 appellations of origin, 10 Qvevri wines, more than 15 vine varieties and 5 types of basic wines. Khareba Winery also produces sparkling wine, wine brandy, chacha and grape seed oil. In total, the company produces more than 50 types of products from up to 30 varieties of vines. The company is represented with the latest European technology equipped wineries in Terjola and Kvareli. In these modern cellars that the highest quality product is made with European technology as well as Qvevri method and oak barrels aging method. The great assortment of Winery Khareba’s wines have won hundreds of medals on well-known international wine competitions like Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Decanter World Wine Award and etc.

Kvareli Wine Cave

The unique wine cellar and tourist complex “Kvareli Wine Cave” is built on the edge of Alazani Valley. This is a place that attracts Georgian and foreign tourists alike and awakens unforgettable emotions in them. The cave, carved into the Caucasus rock massif, was opened in 1962 specifically for the World Congress of Vine and Wine. Throughout the year, the cave temperature ranges from 12-16 ° C, which creates an ideal environment for wine storage and aging. The wine bottles in the cave are positioned horizontally or upright to ensure that the cork is constantly wet during the aging period. The total length of the Wine Tunnel is 7.7 km, which consists of two main and 13 connecting tunnels. One of the two entrances to the cave is used for tourism, while the other entrances are used for the care and aging of wines stored in metal and oak containers. In this part, the guests can see the bottled wine cellar, where “Winery Khareba” holds up to 26,000 bottles of the best quality wine. The oldest collectible wine is 17 years old.
