Solomiia Begun is an international wine trade agent and wine diplomacy advocate operating across Asia, France, and Ukraine. She is the Founder & CEO of GODAI SDN. BHD., an international wine and gastronomy consultancy headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For more than 14 years, Solomiia has lived and worked between Paris and Kuala Lumpur, building strong cross-continental relationships within the wine, gastronomy, and hospitality industries. Her work focuses on developing exclusive B2B partnerships between producers and key markets across Asia and Europe, with a particular emphasis on premium and high-end wine positioning.
GODAI SDN. BHD. specializes in B2B cooperation within the premium wine and gastronomy sector. By working directly with wine estates and producers – the company ensures transparency, reliability, and full authenticity of origin for its partners and clients. Its portfolio includes more than 1,000 producers from leading wine regions of France (Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Languedoc, Jura, and others), as well as Ukraine and Germany. In 2025, GODAI SDN. BHD. expanded its international reach by signing cooperation agreements with five leading Chinese wineries. Solomiia’s professional philosophy is rooted in collaboration with wineries for whom quality is not a marketing concept, but a deeply embedded culture. Her partners are custodians of tradition, craftsmanship, and distinctive terroirs – values that form the foundation of her long-term strategic approach to international wine markets.
Wine Diplomacy & Cultural Representation
Beyond commercial activity, Solomiia plays an active role in wine diplomacy and cultural representation. As Vice Conseiller Gastronomique of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and a member of the International Association of Women in Wine (France), she actively promotes French winemaking heritage, gastronomy, and excellence on the international stage.
Ukrainian Wine Advocacy, Events & Professional Development
At the same time, Solomiia is a leading advocate for Ukrainian wine diplomacy. Acting as an ambassador and agent for Ukrainian wines in Asia, she is the initiator and organizer of Ukrainian Wine Expo 2026, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur in August 2026. This event – held for the first time in Malaysia – will be a professional trade exhibition aimed at introducing Ukrainian wines and spirits to the Asian market and facilitating their integration into international trade channels. Solomiia also specializes in curating high-level enogastronomic events, professional tastings, and wine evenings, collaborating with leading sommeliers, winemakers, chefs, and industry experts from Ukraine, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
In parallel with her business activities, Solomiia works as a media journalist and correspondent for Drinks+ Media Group, Bocuse d’Or, and the Sommelier Association of Malaysia, contributing expert insights at the intersection of wine, gastronomy, and international culture. She holds a Master of Public Administration, is a graduate of the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET Level 2), has completed the Contemporary Art Course at Harvard University, and is currently pursuing studies at the International European Academy of Castle Studies, reflecting her deep engagement with cultural heritage, history, and wine tourism.
