Marinela Ardelean is an executive MBA and PhD in Marketing. Despite growing up in the stunning Maramures region in Transylvania, her passion for wine and spirits blossomed during her time in Italy, now her second home. Inspired by her profound love for Italian culture, a true feast for the soul, Marinela authored her first book. This award-winning publication, written in both languages, innovatively paired lesser-known Romanian wines with exquisite dishes from fine Italian cuisine. Recognized globally, Marinela’s influence expanded along with her professional accolades. Her notable achievements include the prestigious title of Dame Chevalier in the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne and selection by the Italian Chef Academy to lead courses in sensory analysis and wine and food pairings. Her collaborations with the industry’s best further solidify her standing in the global arena.

Marinela established her unique benchmarks for success as a woman in a predominantly male industry, distinguishing herself through integrity, creativity, and empathy in her actions and approach. The outcomes of Marinela’s efforts were evident as she collaborated with clients to craft innovative strategies, distinctive communications, wine and spirits reviews, and exceptional events. In 2021, Marinela reached a new pinnacle of professional achievement by obtaining her PhD in Marketing.

Charting the Bright Path Ahead for Romanian Wines

In contemplating Marinela’s future endeavors for growth and influence, she takes pride in observing the continual increase in the number of Romanian wineries prioritizing quality. Additionally, the rise in labels recognizing Romania’s presence on the global stage is noteworthy. Serving as a driving force for Romanian wines, Marinela actively enhances their reputation and contributes to their equitable positioning among Europe’s elite, alongside France and Italy.

Fueled by this mission, Marinela authored her initial book and followed it with four more, all showcasing the revitalized local wine industry. Rooted in Marinela’s extensive research and unwavering belief in the quality of Romanian wines, she conceived the idea for RO-Wine, The International Wine Festival of Romania. In pursuit of this vision, she identified exceptional co-founders to collaborate with.
