A multifaceted career in the field of communication
Born in Havana (Cuba), Jenny Viant Gomez has been living in Italy since 1994, where she works as a freelancer journalist, content creator, communication consultant, event organizer, and TV presenter. After obtaining sommelier certification, Jenny Viant Gomez became a certified wine taster, achieved WSET Level 2, and began a collaboration with the Italian guide dedicated to native wines (Touring Club), which lasted for several years. This was followed by participations as a judge in international wine competitions, such as: Mundus Vini, Vinistra, Mondial des Vins Extremes, Berliner Vine Trophy, International Wine City Challenge, Radici del Sud, and Emozioni dal Mondo. Always active in the fields of associationism and female empowerment, Jenny Viant Gomez is currently a member of the national board of the Italian Association Le Donne del Vino, working to promote the role of women in the wine industry. With an approach focused on the growth and awareness of wine lovers, she founded in 2019 the only all-female wine tasting group in Italy: the Pink Panel, which core is organizing wine tastings and traveling experiences.
Awards and Recognitions
Her intense activity as a wine taster and communicator has been appreciated by various organizations and institutions. At the regional level, Jenny Viant Gomez received the “Antonio Recanati” journalistic award for communication in the Agriculture and Environment sector, in 2018. Some other rewards have also come from digital communication. On a national level, in 2022 Jenny Viant Gomez was among the semifinalists for the Italy Ambassador Awards. Internationally, in 2024, she was named among the top 150 content creators worldwide in the Vinoinfluencers World Awards in Valladolid, Spain.
