Jenny Viant Gomez: A Voice Shaping Contemporary Wine Communication

Born in Havana, Cuba, and based in Italy since 1994, Jenny Viant Gomez has built a multifaceted international career at the crossroads of wine, communication, and culture. She works as a freelance journalist, content creator, communication consultant, event organizer, and TV presenter, bringing together media expertise with deep wine knowledge.

After obtaining sommelier certification, Jenny became a certified wine taster and completed WSET Level 2. She went on to collaborate for several years with the Touring Club’s Italian guide dedicated to native grape varieties. Her professional authority led her to serve as a judge at leading international wine competitions, including Mundus Vini, Vinistra, Mondial des Vins Extrêmes, Berliner Wine Trophy, International Wine City Challenge, Radici del Sud, and Emozioni dal Mondo.

Actively engaged in association work and female empowerment, Jenny is a member of the national board of Le Donne del Vino, the Italian Association of Women in Wine, where she contributes to strengthening the role and visibility of women in the sector. In 2019, she founded Pink Panel, Italy’s first all-female wine tasting group, focused on tastings, wine travel experiences, and building awareness among wine lovers.

Recognition and Professional Distinction

Jenny Viant Gomez’s work has been recognized at regional, national, and international levels, including the “Antonio Recanati” Journalism Award (2018), a semifinalist position at the Italy Ambassador Awards (2022), and her selection among the Top 150 global content creators at the Vinoinfluencers World Awards 2024 in Valladolid, Spain.

Discovering Castilla-León: Wine, Territory, and Digital Storytelling

In 2024, Jenny took part in Discovering Castilla-León, an immersive wine tourism experience created within the framework of the Vinoinfluencers World Awards. Alongside 150 leading wine communicators from around the world, she explored one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions, renowned for its historic vineyards, diverse terroirs, and nine Denominations of Origin.

The journey, which began in Madrid and continued aboard the iconic Wine Train, included visits to emblematic wineries such as Monte La Reina, Vizar, and Concejo. Participants experienced exclusive tastings, vineyard tours, and masterclasses highlighting the bold reds of Ribera del Duero and Toro, as well as the expressive whites of Rueda. The program concluded in Valladolid, where wine was paired with award-winning tapas at the legendary Los Zagales restaurant.

Beyond the tastings, the project became a powerful example of digital storytelling in wine tourism. Through real-time content, interviews, and social media narratives, Discovering Castilla-León reached a global audience, promoting Spanish wine culture and positioning the region as a benchmark destination for contemporary wine travel. For its cultural depth, digital impact, and contribution to wine tourism, the initiative truly embodied The Brightest Journey.
