The voice behind Food Wine Click!

Jeff Burrows is an independent wine writer and social media creator whose work explores the intersection of food, wine, travel, photography, and video. Since launching his blog Food Wine Click! in 2012, he has documented wine experiences around the world, sharing thoughtful food-and-wine pairings and immersive travel stories. Jeff holds the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Diploma in Wines and is also a certified WSET educator, bringing both professional expertise and curiosity to his storytelling. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including a Millésima Blog Award and a shortlist at the Born Digital Wine Awards, with publications and collaborations appearing on platforms such as JancisRobinson.com, The Vintner Project, and Bordeaux Wines.

Where great wines meet great food

Jeff’s writing moves easily between classic wine regions and fresh cultural perspectives. His recent food-and-wine pairing articles feature wines from renowned areas such as the Côtes du Rhône, the Jura—home of the distinctive Vin Jaune—the Loire Valley, and Italy’s Super Tuscans. Each pairing highlights not only the character of the wines but also the way they interact with thoughtfully prepared dishes.

Culture and conscious winemaking

Beyond traditional topics, Jeff also explores innovative ways to connect wine with broader culture. Notably, he has conducted multiple interviews with Jermaine Stone, creator of the Wine and Hip Hop podcast, book, and event series. Through these conversations, Jeff shares the idea that wine can speak to new audiences when it intersects with music, storytelling, and modern cultural expression.

Sustainability is another key focus in his work. Jeff frequently features vignerons committed to organic, biodynamic, and regenerative viticulture, highlighting producers who demonstrate genuine environmental responsibility. These themes are woven naturally into his articles and videos, often through wines he selects for his pairings.

Wine travel and the diversity of terroir

Travel plays a central role in Jeff’s wine storytelling. His work celebrates the diversity of global terroir by documenting the regions he visits and sharing their wines, landscapes, and local specialties with readers.

Among his recent destinations is Spain’s Priorat, a dramatic mountainous region known for powerful yet mineral-driven wines from old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena grown on the distinctive slate soils known as llicorella. In Champagne, Jeff has explored the Côte des Bar, a dynamic sub-region in the south where Pinot Noir dominates and a new generation of grower-producers is redefining Champagne’s identity.

He has also devoted significant attention to France’s Loire Valley, a region celebrated for its extraordinary diversity—from crisp Sauvignon Blancs of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé to Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur, along with elegant Cabernet Franc reds from Chinon and Bourgueil. Through articles, photographs, and video, Jeff captures not only the wines but also the landscapes, gastronomy, and cultural richness that make these regions compelling destinations for wine-loving travelers.
