Heritage in the Heart of Champagne

With a history spanning more than 115 years, Champagne C. Garnotel represents a family tradition deeply rooted in the heritage of the Champagne region. The story began in 1899, when Louis Adam founded the original Adam Champagne House. The estate remained in the family for generations, passing from Louis Adam to his son Rémy, and later to his daughter Annick. In 1971, following her marriage to Dominique Garnotel, the family legacy evolved into the Adam-Garnotel brand.

Today, the great-grandson of the founder continues to develop the house under the name C. Garnotel, preserving its heritage while guiding the winery into a new era of international recognition.

Terroir of the Montagne de Reims

The winery is located in the village of Rilly-la-Montagne, ideally positioned between Reims and Épernay in the heart of the prestigious Montagne de Reims. The estate cultivates around ten hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, where the three classic Champagne grape varieties thrive: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The balance between these grapes allows the house to craft refined and harmonious blends that express the character of the terroir. In addition to its own vineyards, the house carefully selects grapes from trusted growers in the region, ensuring the highest quality for every cuvée.

Tradition, Balance and Elegance

C. Garnotel champagnes are known for their elegant style, combining freshness, aromatic precision and refined effervescence. Each cuvée is crafted with respect for Champagne traditions while highlighting the individual character of each grape variety.

Among the signature wines are:

  • Brut Grande Réserve – a harmonious blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with notes of fruit, cream and delicate biscuit.
  • Brut Esprit Rosé – expressive and fruity, revealing aromas of ripe strawberries and citrus.
  • Blanc de Blancs – a Chardonnay-driven cuvée with pastry, toasted and dried fruit notes.
  • Cuvée Louis Adam Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru – elegant and complex with floral aromas and creamy texture.
  • Blanc de Noirs Zéro Dosage – a pure expression of Pinot Noir, vibrant and structured.

Vision and Leadership

The international development of the brand is led by Philippe Bienvenu, Founder and CEO, whose vision combines respect for Champagne’s long-standing traditions with a dynamic approach to global markets.

Under his leadership, the house continues to strengthen its presence beyond France, building partnerships with distributors and wine professionals across Europe and expanding into emerging markets. Philippe Bienvenu focuses on promoting authentic Champagne culture while highlighting the individuality and heritage of the Garnotel family estate.

A Family Legacy with International Horizons

Thanks to a loyal private clientele and trusted distributors, C. Garnotel has built a strong reputation in France while gradually expanding its presence abroad. Around 30% of production is exported, primarily across Europe, with new markets in Asia and beyond continuing to open for the house. Remaining faithful to its family roots while embracing new opportunities, Champagne C. Garnotel continues to express the timeless elegance of Champagne through every bottle.
