Tradition of Organic Winemaking

In 1970, Valentina and Giancarlo Cubi took over what would become the renowned Valentina Cubi Agricultural Company, nestled in the charming hamlet of Casterna (Fumane, Verona). This historic village, dating back to the early 1700s, lies in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions, just east of Lake Garda and north of Verona. Spanning 13 hectares, with 10 hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates native Veronese grape varieties and every grape is hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality. Since 2010, Valentina Cubi has been dedicated to organic viticulture, earning full certification in 2014. It`s not just sustainability – it’s a philosophy of preserving nature and leaving a healthier environment for future generations. It embraces organic farming and rejects synthetic fertilizers and pesticides to preserve soil vitality. Natural solutions like enriched compost, green manure, and organic matter restore balance and enhance fertility. Inspired by biodynamics, the winery applies Steiner’s 500P and 501 preparations. Beneficial microorganisms strengthen roots and improve nutrient absorption. This sustainable approach ensures that every bottle reflects Valpolicella’s terroir while safeguarding the land for future generations.

A Taste of Valpolicella’s Finest

At Valentina Cubi Winery, great wines begin in the vineyard, not the cellar. Every bottle reflects the land’s rich history and character, with wines named in honor of Valpolicella’s heritage: Iperico, Il Tabarro, Arusnatico, Morar, Meliloto, QB, Sin Cero, and Antenatus. Beyond wine, the estate produces Verbasco, an organic extra virgin olive oil crafted from Favarol, Leccino, Frantoio, and Grignano olives. For spirits connoisseurs, Valentina Cubi distills Recioto and Amarone spirits, with alcohol content of 50% and 66.1%, using the finest pomace from their iconic wines. All products are available in elegant wooden boxes and custom gift packs.

A Perfect Blend of Nature and Tradition

The vineyards of Valentina Cubi are the estate’s most precious assets, nestled at an altitude of 290 to 350 meters above sea level with a favorable south/southeast exposure. They are cultivated with native Valpolicella grape varieties – Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. Select rows of international varieties such as Cabernet, Sangiovese, and Croatina also thrive here. To ensure that Valpolicella, Recioto, and Amarone express the true character of the land, these international grapes are vinified separately under the “qb” label – ironically often mistaken for local wines, proving that terroir ultimately prevails over varietals.

At Valentina Cubi, guests can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of Valpolicella. The estate offers an exclusive agriturismo experience, where nature, tradition, and relaxation come together. Five unique rooms – two suites and three double rooms – are housed within a beautifully restored rural courtyard, inspired by the area’s natural materials and architectural heritage. The mild Mediterranean climate makes every season special, offering guests the chance to reconnect with nature, enjoy the rhythm of winery life, and savor the tranquility of this timeless landscape. The agriturismo is open from April to October.
