“Armenia Wine” Factory LLC was presented at the First Wine Travel Awards Ceremony in London

During the first ceremony of Wine Travel Awards at London Wine Fair 2022, attended by reputable WTA judges such as Robert Joseph, British wine expert, consultant, producer, an editorial consultant for Meininger’s Wine Business International, Felicity Carter, Executive Editor, Pix+ Special Projects, and Doctor Ricardo F. Nunez, the owner of the Vinos de La Luz company, Hannah Tovey, Head of London Wine Fair as well as UK Sommelier Association representatives, Masters of Wine, wine buyers, journalists, bloggers, etc. All together the ceremony, received 80 VIP guests which had a chance to enjoy a walk-around tasting where “Armenia Wine” Factory LLC was presented. These wines were also presented at the joint Drinks+ and Wine Travel Awards Stand during the three days of the exhibition.

“Armenia Wine” Factory LLC was founded by Vardanyan and Mkrtchyan families as a result of love for their homeland, nature and culture. All started in 2006 from the vineyards planted in Armavir region, south-west of Armenia, and later turned into a big winemaking project. The winery itself was founded in 2 years later, in 2008. Winery is located in Aragatsotn, one of the viticultural regions of Armenia. It is situated between Yerevan and Mount Aragats, Armenia’s highest peak.

Today Armenia Wine represents an exemplary winery, where century-old Armenian winemaking lives its time of renaissance. It is a modern winery that produces wines and brandies and gathers a team of highly qualified professionals. 

With its unique terroir and climatic diversity, the wine produced is given a special mineral feature. The continuous expansion of its production has been recognized and admired worldwide and its ambitious projects elevate them to high-quality standards. 

“Armenia Wine” Factory LLC brand has become one of the most popular ones in Armenia, presenting more than 40 products, mainly premium.  With exports of 70% of its production to more than 26 countries, “Armenia Wine” Factory LLC has been rewarded with many prizes internationally. Since 2017, the winery has started to evolve to a sustainable perspective and it is working on organic certification with the goal of returning to traditional methods and respecting nature and its gifts. 

At the WTA event Tariri White Dry Wine and Takar Red Dry Wine were presented. 

Tariri White Dry Wine came from Armavir region with the Continental climate. Vineyards are located at an altitude of 1000 meters above the sea level, yield – 55 hl/ha. Grape varieties: Kangun 50%, Muscat Ottonel 25% and Colombard 25%. Production: Manual harvesting, transportation in small boxes in the refrigerator truck. Double manual sorting on the sorting table. Fermentation in the new French oak barrels.

The wine has a pale yellow colour with the golden hue. Magnificent bouquet of fruity aromas: mango, melon, tangerine, intertwined with floral notes. Full-bodied, spicy and mild taste. Goes well with chicken creole, trout and salmon steak. 

Takar Red Dry came from Vayots Dzor region. Vineyards are located at an altitude of 1200 meters above the sea level, yield – 55 hl/ha. Production: Manual harvesting, transportation in the small boxes in the refrigerator truck. Double manual sorting on the sorting table. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks. Aging in the Armenian and French oak barrels for about 12 months.

The wine has cherry-red colour with the purple hue, pleasant aroma of vanilla, notes of pepper and clove in the background of ripe cherries and blackberries. Well balanced taste with the soft tannins. Notes of pepper that are perfectly mixed up with the taste of ripe berries. Potential aging in the bottle is 10 years. Goes well with lamb and poultry dishes, soft cheese.
