Global Wine Tourism Day 2026 to Debut in Beaune
The Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne and Global Wine Tourism Day become a meeting place for the visionaries shaping the future of the global wine world.
The global wine tourism community will converge on Beaune on 17 June 2026, when the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne hosts the inaugural Global Wine Tourism Day – a new international forum dedicated to the evolution, challenges and future direction of wine tourism worldwide.
Launched by the Wine Travel Awards in partnership with the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne and supported by the Bourgogne Wine Board, the event is expected to welcome more than 150 professionals and decision‑makers from across five continents, marking a significant new date in the global wine calendar.
An event dedicated to the future of wine tourism
Designed as a platform for dialogue and exchange, Global Wine Tourism Day will convene recognised figures from the worlds of wine and wine tourism, along with sommeliers, international experts, specialised journalists and ambassadors. Conferences and round tables will explore:
- evolving expectations among international visitors
- innovation in wine tourism experiences
- the enhancement of wine heritage
- new forms of cooperation between wine regions worldwide
The programme will also feature tastings of wines from Bourgogne alongside wines from other regions, encouraging international dialogue and exchange of perspectives.

A global tasting experience
Alongside the professional programme, attendees will have the opportunity to taste Bourgogne wines alongside selections from other international regions. This curated tasting is intended to spark dialogue, highlight stylistic diversity and deepen understanding of global wine identities.
Bourgogne: A territory of reference
Shaped by more than two millennia of history, the Bourgogne vineyards are distinguished by their organisation into Climats – precisely delimited vineyard parcels recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015. With its 84 AOCs and an exceptionally precise mosaic of appellations, Bourgogne embodies the ultimate expression of terroir, founded on the recognition of place, the transmission of savoir-faire and a sustained commitment to quality. This unique structure also provides a coherent framework for the development of wine tourism rooted in landscape, history and cultural heritage.
Hosting the first edition of Global Wine Tourism Day in Bourgogne places the event within a vineyard where heritage, craftsmanship and tourism naturally converge.
The Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne: A living environment devoted to transmission
Located in the heart of Beaune, the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne, initiated and supported by the Bourgogne Wine Board, is a cultural facility focused on the discovery and understanding of Bourgogne’s terroirs and wines. With its contemporary architecture, purpose-built conference and tasting spaces, and strong educational and international vocation, the Cité offers an appropriate setting for a professional gathering of global scope.

A highlight: the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 Ceremony
The day will culminate in the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 Ceremony, recognising initiatives and personalities contributing to the development and international visibility of wine tourism. The awards presentation will be followed by a gala dinner bringing together all participants. Attendance is subject to prior registration.

About the Bourgogne Wine Board
The Bourgogne Wine Board is a professional organization that brings together all winegrowers and négociants producing Bourgogne wine AOCs. Its role is to represent and protect the interests of Bourgogne winemakers and merchants, to define industry policy in technical, economic and marketing terms, and to conduct promotional activities. About the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne Developed across three sites – Chablis, Beaune and Mâcon – the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne serves as a structuring tool for education, transmission and the international outreach of the Bourgogne vineyard. Each site reflects a distinct facet of the region: Chablis expresses its northern identity and geological heritage, Beaune offers a comprehensive immersion into the Climats, and Mâcon embodies the southern dimension of Bourgogne. Together, they illustrate the geographical diversity and cultural richness of the vineyard.
